About the Position

Visante seeks to hire a Pharmacy Manager for our Specialty Pharmacy Services line. Under the Visante Leadership team, this individual will provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of specialty pharmacy services at Client sites. Responsibilities include oversight of operational, financial, programmatic, clinical, and personnel activities to ensure excellence in patient care and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain key processes to improve efficiencies, quality, and service.
  • Analyze operational performance and recommend and implement changes that improve effectiveness.
  • Stay informed of operational and regulatory changes affecting specialty pharmacy services.
  • Lead operational activities across the specialty pharmacy program, including:
    • Marketing initiatives
    • Prescription capture
    • Contract pharmacy agreements
    • Policy creation and implementation
    • Accreditation processes
    • Clinical services
    • Medication access services
    • Call center services
    • Dispensing procedures
    • Licensing and compliance requirements
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of prescription billing and reimbursement, serving as a resource regarding billing inquiries and issues.
  • Oversees the purchase of drugs and supplies and ensures appropriate records and documentation are maintained according to established standards/procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy, CMS, and FDA regulations regarding the medication process (verification, compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing).
  • Oversee daily activities that support continuous quality improvement of patient care, including accurate dispensing of medications.
  • Monitor and remediate medication errors and implement controlled substance monitoring and surveillance programs.
  • Understand all specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, be accountable for achieving and maintaining necessary accreditation(s), and maintain organized and up-to-date documentation as required by accreditation bodies. Achieves and maintains specialty pharmacy accreditation (e.g., URAC, ACHC, etc.).
  • Lead Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Act as an Operational and/or Clinical Pharmacist as necessary to support daily operations.
  • Assess and lead operational changes to strengthen pharmacy programs as needed.
  • Supervise Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Medication Access Technicians, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Provides administrative leadership in the absence of the site-specific Director of Pharmacy, including participation in rotating call schedules and emergency response, including weekends.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards, client and Visante policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Visante Leadership team, or designated supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (Preferred) or B.S. Pharmacy (Required)
  • Five years of relevant experience (Required)
  • Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) and/or PGY2 Residency (Preferred)
  • Washington State Board of Pharmacy licensure
  • American Heart Association BLS required within six months of hire

The role involves repetitive tasks such as typing, sitting, answering phones, and using computers and computer systems throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The role is based in an indoor, climate-controlled environment when in the office.
