Job Summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Director to lead our night operations team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of short- and mid-term department objectives, ensuring the safety and well-being of our associates, and driving business growth through process improvements and cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Direct and manage a team of Warehouse Managers and union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve associate engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee the planning and execution of night warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
    • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring that all associates remain injury-free.
    • Develop and implement safety procedures, processes, and training programs.
  • Financial Management
    • Monitor and analyze operational data, including inventory losses, production goals, and safety reports.
    • Identify problems, determine causes, and recommend changes to achieve zero-error benchmark on accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Effectively communicate with all associates, departments, and external partners.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
    • Minimum of seven years of experience in warehouse management required.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
    • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • HACCP certification a plus.
    • PCQI certification a plus.
Work Environment

The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees.

Physical Qualifications

The job requires occasional standing, walking, driving, and lifting up to 100 pounds. The ability to perform manual dexterity tasks, such as typing and using office machines, is also required.
