Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our exceptional team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in the coordination of care for surgical procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient setup and organization of operating room supplies.
  • Provide patient care to individuals of all age groups, demonstrating empathy and compassion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to become familiar with surgeon's preferences and department policies.

Requirements:

  • Requires knowledge of basic sciences such as anatomy, physiology, and microbiology.
  • Must possess asepsis and sterile techniques acquired through completion of an accredited two-year program of surgical technology.
  • Must be certified as a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) within 6 months of hire.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and surgeons.
  • Must be able to lift, position, and transfer patients safely and efficiently.
