CT Imaging Specialist

The CT Imaging Specialist will exemplify professionalism and service excellence while executing the following responsibilities:
- Preparation and Supplies: Acquire necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for specific procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Field Sterility: Ensure the sterility of the field and instruments throughout the procedure.
- Patient Communication: Effectively communicate with patients and their families before, during, and after procedures to alleviate anxiety while upholding the patient's privacy and dignity.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.
- Patient Verification: Confirm patient identification in line with established policies.
- Monitoring: Observe the patient's condition before and after contrast injections, reporting any sudden changes to nursing staff and radiologists.
- Record Management: Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, lab results, and patient history.
- Emergency Preparedness: Be ready to initiate emergency response in case of complications.
- Supply Management: Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage supplies in each scanning room.
- Inventory Participation: Engage in daily inventory checks and restocking of supplies, notifying the Lead of any expired or soon-to-expire equipment or medications.
- Equipment Maintenance: Participate in the routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use.
- Workflow Coordination: When assigned as Point, triage procedures according to the daily schedule, ensuring timely coordination of all emergency and unscheduled procedure requests.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Maintain communication with all departments regarding patient status and ensure immediate transport post-procedure.
- Routine Procedures: Assist in performing routine procedures and assess patient tolerance for contrast, screening for allergies and medication incompatibilities.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain QA/QC requirements for daily, monthly, and ACR specifications, recognizing unusual conditions in equipment operation and alerting appropriate personnel of malfunctions.
- Protocol Adherence: Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols, ensuring timely processing of images for urgent cases.
- Collaboration: Notify the radiologist of any unusual findings to provide optimal patient care.
