Qualifications for the Electrical Engineer Role:

  • OSHA Certification (OSHA 10/30)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional or PV Design Specialist certification
  • Valid Driver's License

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:

  • Conduct calculations and design photovoltaic (PV) systems, focusing on AC/DC electrical design, interconnection methods, compliance with NEC codes, utility requirements, and fire/building codes
  • Develop relay protection schemes and SCADA control systems tailored to utility and project specifications
  • Execute Arc Flash calculations utilizing SKM software
  • Produce electrical single-line and three-line diagrams, panel schedules, and connection diagrams for solar energy systems, preferably using AutoCAD
