Certified Pharmacy Technician

Deliver patient prescriptions in a hospital setting and record sales upon return. Suggest Walgreens products and services to patients when appropriate. Achieve company-set prescription sales goals to drive business growth.
Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, and perform other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers.
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Develop strong relationships with valuable customers, case managers, nurses, and other hospital staff members. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy.
Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, and filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow. Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required. Take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.
Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
Deliver prescriptions and interact with patients within a hospital system setting. Connect patients to the retail store pharmacist via telephone to complete the consultation. Translate patient interactions into bottom-line script growth for the company.
Communicate to manager and maintain on-route documentation for any questions, concerns, or complaints from patients or hospital staff. Document all information necessary to process paperwork, collect and record forms received, and submit receipts for expenditures daily.
Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated PTCB or ExCPT training program and/or state-required certification/registration. Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager and acquire continuing education credits.
Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including the latest news and developments.
