Job Summary

Hernandez Trucking Inc. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining company vehicles, planning routes, and meeting delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, including inspecting trucks for mechanical items and safety issues.
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
  • Load and unload cargo using appropriate handling equipment.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours, travel time, and mileage.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers and other team members for efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and report any issues for repairs.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the vehicle.
Qualifications:
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent driving skills and road sense.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy cargo.
