About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Geriatric Nursing Assistant to join our team at Homewood Retirement Centers. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily living care to residents under the supervision of licensed staff
  • Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, shaving, and changing clothing
  • Encourage proper nutrition by serving food promptly and assisting with feeding when necessary
  • Perform resident treatments as assigned by the Team Leader and within the nursing scope of practice
  • Record resident information accurately and report changes in condition or need to the Team Leader
  • Participate in resident care planning and promote the activity of daily living according to the resident's care plan
Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transfer 30 pounds of resident weight frequently throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout an eight-hour shift
  • Organizational skills and ability to perform sequential events
  • Ability to speak English at a level residents can understand
  • Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and provide appropriate resident care
