Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of current experience in an emergency department or major trauma center emergency room.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care and treatment in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
- Assess and care for patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses and treatment modalities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
- Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition accurately and in a timely manner.
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines, and maintain central lines for administration of intravenous fluid.
- Perform phlebotomy and bedside testing as required.
- Initiate patient education, as prescribed by the physician during discharge.
- Display and promote professionalism and excellent customer service during interactions with patients and their families/caregivers.
- May be required to work with COVID-19-positive patients and Patients Under Investigation (PUI), for COVID 19.
Requirements:
- Must have at least 3 years current experience in an emergency department or major trauma center emergency room with no more than a six-month gap working in that setting.
- Must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or in a related field or a master's degree in Nursing or in a related field is highly preferred.
- Must have an unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States).
- Preferred to have the Certification of Emergency Nursing (CEN) through the Board of Certifications for Emergency Nurses (BCEN). Nurses with Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) certifications through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Certification Corporation (AACN) with ED experience will also be considered.
