POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Security Officer is tasked with ensuring the safety and protection of students, staff, and facilities within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, remaining vigilant for disturbances, safety risks, traffic violations, suspicious activities, and other irregular conditions.
  • Uphold and enforce all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Perform thorough security and safety inspections of buildings.
  • Assist personnel in managing disturbances effectively.
  • Receive and address complaints, conducting preliminary investigations as necessary.
  • Ensure the physical security of all buildings and properties.
  • Oversee parking and traffic management duties.
  • Enforce access control policies.
  • Provide escort services as required.
  • Ensure compliance with fleet management protocols.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of security personnel and drivers.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement protocols.
  • Basic understanding of crowd control and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal, mediation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to engage with diverse groups, including individuals with special needs.
  • Proficient in standard office software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred six months of experience in a security-related role.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must obtain a valid commercial Driver's License Class B with passenger endorsement within three months of employment, along with Water Safety Certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in both campus and office settings.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Occasional driving in various traffic and weather conditions.
