HVAC Technician I Job Description

Skookum Contract Services is seeking a reliable and knowledgeable HVAC Technician I with a helpful attitude to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled HVAC Technician I to install, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and be able to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions
  • Perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
  • Utilize wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to perform repairs and maintenance
  • Install and clean air and water filters
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power source
  • Communicate with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates
Requirements:
  • Current New Mexico Journeyman Refrigeration certification required
  • 3 years experience with HVAC is preferred
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties
  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access
