Scope of Position:The Ohio State University Medical Center's mission is focused on integrating quality patient care, education, and research. As a Nurse Manager, you will cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect among your team members, creating an environment that supports the nursing professional practice model.
Position Summary:You will oversee plans, organize, manage, and evaluate patient care operations for a designated area on a 24-hour basis as needed. You will plan and develop strategic short, mid, and long-term goals and processes to enhance and improve the operations of the unit to support the Medical Center's mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:- Manage, guide, coach, and evaluate the work performance of patient care staff in a designated area.
- Promote and ensure ongoing collaboration with other patient care departments and areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services.
- Develop, administer, and manage unit budget plans.
- Identify, plan, and initiate cost-saving initiatives.
- Participate in the development of evidence-based standards of practice.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred.
- Current Ohio RN license.
- Minimum of three years RN clinical experience and two years management experience in a relevant care setting required.
- Holds a current certification in nursing administration or area of clinical expertise.
This is a regular full-time position with a scheduled 40 hours per week. The shift is first shift. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post-offer process.
