About the Role

Catalyst Kids is seeking a dedicated and passionate School Age Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and implementation of our programming for children aged 5-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes positive child development and learning.
  • Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment that fosters social-emotional growth and development.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by building authentic relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide high-quality programs and services that meet the needs of our children and families.
Work Environment

  • Positive interactions with children and colleagues.
  • Maintaining a kind, respectful, and safe emotional/physical environment for children.
  • Being on time and present on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Being active in outdoor and indoor programs.
  • Being physically and mentally capable of interacting with children up to 13 years of age.
Physical & Environmental Conditions

As a School Age Teacher, you will be responsible for various program elements on a daily basis and will be exposed to indoor and outdoor elements. You may be required to:

  • Visually inspect the environment for hazards to children and implement preventative actions to maintain a safe environment.
  • Be comfortable with occasional loud noise during outdoor activities.
  • Be comfortable with frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Push, lift, carry, and hold various objects up to 15 lbs.
Qualifications & Experience

Catalyst Kids is committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment. To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: 24 postsecondary semester units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, plus 16 general education units.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a group care environment where care/teaching was provided for a consistent age group.
  • Skills: Effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, classroom management, and communication with children and families.
