About the Role

As a Per Diem LPN, you will be responsible for providing nursing interventions and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and enhance the quality of life. Under the direction of an RN, you will provide continuous care, dressing changes, catheter changes, and other essential tasks as identified in the plan of care developed by the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).

Key Responsibilities

* Provide nursing tasks to patients and families, including continuous care, dressing changes, and catheter changes
* Demonstrate clinical skills regarding medication administration, symptom management, and patient/family relationships
* Monitor patients for alterations in body systems, pain, and symptoms, and report to RN
* Perform venipuncture for blood specimens and Central Venous Line (CVL) site observation/inspection
* Document per policy and procedure in medical record

Requirements

* A high school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Current LPN licensure in the state of employment
* Active BLS for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
* Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per Company policy
* Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English
* Flexible schedule to meet the needs of patients
* Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms
* Ability to manage the emotional stress of working with and caring for terminally ill patients and their families

Educational Background

* High school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
