We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Detention Officer to join our team at the City of Rowlett (TX). As a key member of our law enforcement department, you will be responsible for providing detention, intake, and custodial care to arrested inmates, while ensuring the safety and security of our community.

• Provide detention, intake, and custodial care to arrested inmates in accordance with applicable ordinances and departmental procedures.
• Assist the public, department, and law enforcement agencies with facility activities and operations.
• Perform related duties as required, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Work overtime and on-call as needed.
• Obtain TCOLE Basic Detention Officer certification within 12 months of employment.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license and good driving record required.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of recent work experience with the public preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Competitive hourly rate of $22.63.
• Full pay range of $33.95 hourly.
