Job Title: Steel Erection Estimator

gpac is partnering with a well-established Steel Construction company to find a skilled Structural Steel Estimator. Our client company specializes in heavy structural steel installation for the commercial construction industry. Due to continuous growth, they need to hire an experienced Steel Estimator with expertise in heavy steel erection projects. Working knowledge of Tekla EPM and Bluebeam software is a plus.

Key Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in the structural steel industry
  • Project experience on heavy steel construction projects exceeding 5,000 tons
  • Knowledge of current AISC structural codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Ability to calculate costs and prepare estimates
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review estimates for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate and communicate with team members
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Manage and monitor project budgets and schedules
  • Monitor and review changes in project scope
  • Ensure all materials, labor, and equipment costs are accurately included in estimates
  • Prepare accurate material take-offs
  • Assist in developing and implementing cost-effective strategies
Job Functions:
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between estimates and actual costs
  • Monitor progress of projects and recommend changes to ensure timelines and budgets are met
  • Produce estimates, bids, and proposals for projects
  • Analyze materials, labor, and equipment costs for accuracy and completeness
Compensation and Benefits:

$100,000 - $140,000 base salary DOE, competitive company benefits included.
