Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting in the repair and overhaul of refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing service to customers by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical and mechanical control devices
  • Performing general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors
  • Providing preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operating deficiencies
  • Testing malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and mechanical skills
  • Maintaining accurate records of work history and processing job tickets and work orders
  • Providing support by picking up, delivering, and installing equipment
  • Performing work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startups of new installations
  • Driving company vehicles safely and efficiently
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • EPA certification
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school (preferred)
  • A minimum of 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets (desired)
  • Familiarity with single systems and rack systems, as well as previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes (helpful)
  • A good driving record and ability to work independently
  • Emergency on-call availability
  • The ability to lift up to 60 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods
