Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and recording information on patient's charts.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Draping patients with covering and positioning instruments and equipment.
  • Handing instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing instruments.
  • Inventorying and ordering medical supplies and materials.
  • Operating x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
  • Giving injections or treatments, and performing routine laboratory tests.
  • Scheduling appointments, receiving money for bills, keeping x-ray and other medical records, performing secretarial tasks, and completing insurance forms.
  • May key data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
  • May keep billing records, enter financial transactions into bookkeeping ledgers and computer, and mail monthly statements to patients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.
Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year. This salary estimate is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and experience.
