Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Unit is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation tailored to meet the diverse needs of patients across all age groups. This role includes overseeing the patient care provided by nursing staff and taking on charge nurse responsibilities as needed. The RN is expected to embody the organization's mission and demonstrate behaviors aligned with our core values.
- Delivers direct patient care, assesses outcomes, collaborates with healthcare professionals, and modifies nursing care strategies to ensure optimal patient results.
- Conducts patient assessments, develops personalized care plans, and maintains documentation as patient conditions evolve.
- Identifies patient educational needs and implements effective teaching strategies while documenting progress.
- Administers medications and manages narcotics in accordance with established protocols, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Keeps accurate records of patient progress, nursing interventions, and reports on care provided.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Valid RN license in California.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from an accredited organization.
- A minimum of six months of experience in an acute care setting.
- Ability to maintain focus and perform effectively amidst frequent interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
