Role Responsibilities:

The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Defining security requirements and conducting comprehensive security risk assessments.
  • Performing systems analysis and design, along with security testing and evaluation.
  • Overseeing certification and accreditation processes, as well as systems hardening.
  • Executing vulnerability assessments and incident response strategies.
  • Developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Providing analytical support for the formulation and evaluation of security policies.
  • Identifying and exploiting system vulnerabilities to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Monitoring and analyzing cyber events and incidents across information systems.
  • Planning, implementing, and upgrading security measures to safeguard organizational data and networks.
  • Creating security assessment plans that outline objectives, scope, and potential risks.
  • Offering written and oral recommendations to the PMO regarding cybersecurity concepts and requirements.

Position Levels:

Level II:

  • Assessing incident response procedures and capabilities.

Level III:

  • Reviewing and validating security risks and implementing necessary measures to mitigate threats.
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities in systems and networks.
  • Evaluating incident response capabilities through Red Team exercises.

Qualifications:

Level I:

A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred. Extensive experience may substitute for degree requirements. Professional licensing or certification in the area of expertise is required. Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of experience in Federal or DoD Program Management.

Level II:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates should possess at least 6 years of experience in computer technology and security. Without a degree, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, along with appropriate DoD certifications.
