The Senior Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in assessing patients' conditions, designing, coordinating, and executing rehabilitation programs aimed at restoring optimal functional capabilities. This includes enhancing mobility, alleviating discomfort, boosting strength, and preventing or correcting deformities resulting from illness or injury, while also providing education to patients and their families.

This role requires the ability to competently manage a diverse patient caseload within the clinical environment, performing all occupational therapy responsibilities with a degree of independence.

The therapist fosters communication among interdisciplinary team members, confidently engages with returning patients, and serves as an advocate for both patients and the healthcare team.

This position may involve seeking mentorship in complex scenarios and could face challenges in cross-coverage across various settings.

Allied Health Professionals

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for a range of diagnoses, including more intricate cases.
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical capabilities, medical backgrounds, and functional restrictions to create tailored treatment strategies.
Implement therapeutic exercises and other occupational therapy techniques to enhance patients' strength, flexibility, and mobility.
Inform patients and their families about treatment strategies, home exercise regimens, and self-care methods to optimize recovery outcomes.

Collaborate with colleagues to formulate and execute discharge plans and recommendations for ongoing care, occasionally seeking guidance from other professionals.

Track and document patients' progress, treatment results, and responses to interventions to ensure treatment plans are modified as necessary.

Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to guarantee coordinated patient care and comprehensive treatment results.
Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy

EXPERIENCE: Required: 3 years of relevant experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
