The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees, with primary focus on 2nd shift operations, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, cost, and other daily plant standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of production associates throughout the facility.
- Own and actively participate in daily Gemba walks across three shifts of production and drive root cause countermeasures to ensure daily production goals.
- Drive and own accuracy to production schedules and own inventory accuracy at multiple levels of production.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to assure that daily SQDC (safety, quality, delivery and cost) metrics are met.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluation and feedback.
- Develop training plans to meet safety, regulatory and production requirements.
- Lead and participate on cross-functional quality improvement teams.
- Communicate standard operating procedures and plant rules to all production team members ensuring that they are implemented and strictly adhered to.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment for all plant employees and visitors.
- Ensure all safety rules are followed.
- Champion use of Lean tools through involvement in kaizens and other process improvement activities.
- Lead/facilitate kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects as needed.
- Manage production and overtime schedules.
- Manage direct reports attendance and payroll.
- Evaluate employee performance, recommend areas for improvement, and make decisions involving employment, wages, and discipline.
- Create and sustain a safe work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience and education.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including previous experience in leadership.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Computers and related software to complete reports and logs.
- Lean experience and/or certification strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP strongly preferred.
