Thermoplastic Extrusion Technician

The role of the Thermoplastic Extrusion Technician involves overseeing the operation of an extrusion line that processes thermoplastic materials in accordance with established specifications for diverse applications.

• Set up and operate machinery to extrude thermoplastic materials based on documented specifications.
• Install dies, machine screws, and sizing rings utilizing hand tools while accurately following instructions.
• Configure production lines according to order sheets and conduct quality inspections as required.
• Monitor detail screens on winders, manage package doffing, and adjust yields as necessary.
• Splice yarn and maintain records of water temperature and levels.
• Perform maintenance on the extrusion line and keep accurate data sheets and yield logs.

Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED. Applicants should have achieved an 8th-grade equivalency or higher on the TABE assessment in reading and mathematics, or hold a Silver National Career Readiness Certificate. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting is preferred, along with knowledge of extrusion operations.
