Key Responsibilities:


As a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect at DISH Wireless, you will be instrumental as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in managing enterprise-scale environments hosted on public cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with a dynamic engineering team to support various public cloud infrastructures. The role will involve addressing both automation-level and resource-level incidents.

Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that software development workflows and systems management are seamlessly integrated to achieve objectives of reliability, flexibility, and scalability.


Primary Duties:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement effective cloud-based solutions.
  • Exhibit outstanding problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ensure cloud computing uptime, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Advocate for the management of cloud environments in line with best practices and security protocols.
  • Design and implement automated backup and recovery systems for cloud-hosted applications.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 platform support.
  • Guide vendors through feature tracking and prioritization processes.
  • Maintain a curious mindset, researching and integrating new technical solutions.
  • Support integration efforts with multiple cloud service providers.
  • Engage in design reviews for architecture patterns related to service/application deployments on public cloud platforms.
  • Act as an SME for public cloud platforms.
  • Ensure that High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies are effectively implemented and documented.
  • Manage Entry/Exit criteria for new software loads/releases transitioning through various environments.
  • Support testing and evaluation processes.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of experience in cloud system integration, support, and automation.

5+ years of proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).

5+ years of experience with cloud services including, but not limited to, EC2, ALB/NLB, S3, IAM, Auto-Scaling, CloudWatch, RDS, CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, Elastic Search, SSM, KMS, Kinesis, SNS, and SQS.

5+ years of experience in middleware and telecommunications.

5+ years of experience with Linux distributions.

5+ years of experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing protocols, and general network communications.

5+ years of experience supporting cloud-hosted systems in a 24/7 environment, including troubleshooting incidents, identifying root causes, resolving issues, and implementing preventative measures.

5+ years of experience with observability tools such as Datadog, ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Skills and Competencies:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Operational experience with Infrastructure as Code solutions and tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation.

Strong understanding of DevOps and agile methodologies.

Ability to perform well under pressure and manage tight deadlines.

Proven history of operational process improvement.

Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices.

AWS certifications (Professional level and higher) are advantageous.

Kubernetes certifications are also beneficial.
