Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of aerospace technology by designing and developing mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture, analyze, and decompose system and subsystem requirements integrated with architectural modeling
  • Build intricate models using SysML for activity, state, block diagrams, and use cases
  • Interact with a cross-functional team of engineers and engineering leaders
  • Understand and support the build, test, quality, and customer acceptance review processes
  • Participate in internal customer meetings
  • Travel occasionally to support program requirements
  • Provide on-site presence, often in a classified lab
What You Will Learn:
  • Collins Aerospace solutions developed for military platforms
  • Application Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to cutting-edge solutions for emerging technologies
Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Effective communication skills with program team members
  • Proven experience in systems engineering to include deriving and tracing system and subsystem requirements
  • Proven experience building models via Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML, with knowledge of tools such as Magic Draw CAMEO, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Agile experience using tools such as JIRA
  • Experience with processes such as peer review, configuration, and change management
  • Experience with secure systems, including INFOSEC certification
  • Experience with tactical processors, IP network management, solid-state storage solutions, or time synchronization
