Job Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Plant Laborer to join our team at CRH. As a Plant Laborer, you will assist with daily plant operation and maintenance, working closely with our experienced team members to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently within its designed parameters.
  • Clean working areas around the plant, including shoveling excess materials from around conveyors and other areas generating frequent build up.
  • Operate a skid steer to assist with various tasks.
  • Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties, including oiling and greasing plant equipment, as assigned.
  • Assist other departments with maintenance, operations, and/or other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently without direct supervision and has a positive attitude.
  • Safety-minded professional.
  • Demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
  • Must be a current member or able to join Local Laborers #1600 within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Primarily work 8-12 hours per day, 5-7 days a week during the peak season, occasional night work.

  • Frequently required to reach with arms waist to shoulder height, sit, stand, walk, and handle/grasp equipment and machines.

  • Occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or climb, and reach with arms above shoulder height or below knee height.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
