Position Overview:
The Surveying Team Leader will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to execute field survey tasks related to boundary delineations, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographic assessments, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction layout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the field team by adhering to established operating procedures and current health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to gather precise data and information efficiently.
  • Mark locations, document detailed observations and sketches, and maintain company equipment and surveying vehicles.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in operating GPS devices, data collection tools, and Total Stations.
  • Requires independent decision-making and initiative.
  • Understanding of the principles, methods, and practices of land surveying.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting principles, civil engineering concepts, and construction specifications, plans, and regulations.
  • Awareness of industry-specific safe workplace practices.
  • Capability to operate motorized equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and effectively use hands, tools, and controls.
  • Ability to lift and/or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Efficiently manage office tasks, organize work, set priorities, and maintain positive communication with team members and clients.
  • May involve local travel within a specified radius.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Education and Experience:
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary and hourly wages are commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical coverage, 401K, vision and dental plans, and paid time off.
