Job Summary

The Jr Product Engineer/Drafter collaborates with Corporate Purchasing, Engineering Leadership, Operations, and Product Management to scope, recommend changes, and implement changes through Cabinetworks Group Operations. This role is responsible for creating SOPs, process improvement, training for the department, troubleshooting, and special project work as required.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in multi-functional teams to support New Product Development projects, using task/timeline management tools, project status meetings, and meeting minutes.
  • Update Engineering drawings and specifications as needed.
  • Utilize product engineering automation systems to develop CAD models, drawings, and bills of material for existing product maintenance.
  • Work to improve processes used within the Product Engineering area of responsibility.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Technical certification in drafting and design is preferred.
  • At least 6 months of intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
  • At least 6 months of experience with AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD Solidworks software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask various and conflicting responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal customers.
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • Prior ERP experience with Unidata.
  • Familiarity with the cabinet industry or furniture industry products.
