As a Radiation Therapist at Adventist Health St. Helena, you will play a critical role in administering ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy, ensuring accurate patient identification and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, transferring patients to treatment couches while prioritizing their comfort and safety.
- Monitor patients for unusual reactions and report any complications to supervisors and department physicians.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily treatment logs and patient charts, to ensure error-free treatment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide clinical supervision and evaluate students' practical abilities to perform procedures.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)(ARRT)) and applicable State Certification of Therapeutic Radiologic Technology (RTT).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services.
- ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) certification.
- State Radiologic Tech (RT) certification.
