Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repair Technician to join our team at ASARCO LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our production electric shovels and drills, as well as other mining support equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric shovels and drills, including major component replacement and rebuild.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on forklifts and boom equipment.
  • Maintain other pieces of equipment, such as transporters and support equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a college program or two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Availability to work any shift, including weekends, and be willing to work in adverse climate/temperature environments.
  • Ability to wear a respirator in conditions of fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
