Job DescriptionWashington Vocational Services is seeking a skilled Vocational Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing post-secondary transition and education services to students with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement effective curriculum to meet the needs of our students.
- Teach basic job-related skills, including dress, hygiene, interview skills, and work habits.
- Develop and lead classroom instruction to promote life skills and work skill building.
- Collaborate with IEP Coordinators to evaluate student strengths and needs.
- Identify and plan community-based learning experiences to enhance student learning.
- Accompany students on job site visits and provide support as needed.
- Manage data collection and record-keeping processes to ensure compliance with CARF and contract standards.
- Establish quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with contract and CARF regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, or Social Work.
- First Aid/CPR Certification required.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals and providing instruction, employment support, and job development.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
- Pushing, pulling, crouching, and reaching as required.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
