Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Deliver comprehensive medical care addressing the physiological, psychological, and emotional needs of patients
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on diagnoses
  • Identify and manage patient health conditions, prescribing appropriate treatments
  • Evaluate patients returning from external treatment facilities
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges across all units
  • Perform regular patient rounds
  • Schedule and oversee laboratory and diagnostic tests

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:
  • Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida
  • Current DEA registration
  • Certification in CPR
