About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs to patients with a range of conditions, including stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of patients being treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
  • Assess patients' needs and identify and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions, working cooperatively with other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Observe and evaluate treatment effect, accomplishment of short and long-term goals, and recommend changes to physicians as needed.
  • Perform accurate and timely QI scoring and assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation, making appropriate interventions to reduce pain and making appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English, with additional languages preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is from $50 USD per hour or year. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 20 days of PTO, 6 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, continuing education opportunities, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
