Bookseller Representative

About the Job:

We are looking for a dynamic Bookseller Representative to join our team at Hudson Group's Barbara's Bookstore in Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The ideal candidate will have a passion for books, enjoy interacting with customers, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
• Assist customers in finding books, suggesting titles, and putting them in their hands.
• Shelve and organize books according to operational standards and promotional priorities.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including dusting, sweeping, and restocking merchandise.
• Communicate book inventory issues to management in a timely manner.
• Leverage resources, tools, and peer knowledge to enhance training and knowledge.
• Follow all cash handling policies and procedures, and Loss Prevention protocols to prevent loss of merchandise and minimize shrink.

Requirements:
• Love of reading and talking about books.
• Proficiency in operating a cash register and basic computer skills.
• High degree of interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse personalities and build relationships with team members and customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods and repetitive bending and lifting up to 30 pounds.
