Boom Mechanic

At American Truck & Equipment Co., we are seeking a skilled Boom/Crane Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our crane fleet.

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in repairing various makes of cranes and boom trucks. You should have knowledge of Fassi, Hiab, and other brands of cranes or booms, as well as experience with CAT, Detroit, Cummins, or International engines.

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation, uniforms, continued education and training, and more.

As a Boom/Crane Mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical service to vehicles and equipment
• Reading job orders, observing and listening to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures
• Following checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined
• Test-driving vehicles to ensure they run smoothly
• Properly completing assigned services and repairs according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures

You will also participate in technical training as assigned by management, maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner, and ensure guest vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• The knowledge and ability to repair various makes of cranes & boom trucks
• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience
• A valid driver's license
• Knowledge and ability to consistently repair components and equipment in line with dealers and manufacturers standards
• The drive and responsibility to work independently
• Your own tools
