Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in the organization and daily function of the operating room. You will assist in overseeing patient care activities and maintain a high standard of safety for patients and staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention
  • Perform perioperative teaching to patients and their significant others
  • Demonstrate appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative period
  • Prepare operating rooms, ensure availability of needed supplies and equipment, and maintain proper working order
  • Provide patient care across the age span, including safe medication administration
  • Manipulate patient position for surgical intervention, using positioning aids as needed
  • Perform surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preference
  • Demonstrate protocol for safe use and handling of equipment
  • Anticipate equipment and supply needs based on surgeon preference
  • Handle and document specimens per policy
  • Ensure emergency equipment and supplies are available at all times
  • Keep surgical suites clean, tidy, and properly stocked
  • Participate in medical records QAPI
  • Demonstrate a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environment
  • Understand, verbalize, and participate in the quality improvement process
  • Maintain active professional relationships with physicians and patients
Requirements
  • Active RN license
  • BLS and ALS certified
  • Two years of experience as an operating room nurse
