Job Summary:The Houseman/Houseperson plays a vital role in the Food and Beverage Team at The Country Club of North Carolina. This position is responsible for setting up banquet events according to specifications, assisting with audio/visual and wedding requirements, and providing support to other team members as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist servers in setting up for banquets and events.
- Set up and execute audio and visual equipment.
- Move, organize, and set up tables, linens, and chairs for banquet functions.
- Monitor pre-function interior and exterior spaces for cleanliness.
- Remove soiled linen and replace with clean linen.
- Assist in cleaning the dining room occasionally.
- Stock servers' stations with supplies.
- Walk spaces and meeting rooms to confirm correct set up.
- Daily exchange of information with the Events and Catering Director, Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Captain, and Executive Chef.
- Clean and store banquet equipment after functions.
- Organize banquet storage areas (equipment room, linen closet, table rooms, liquor room, etc.).
- Attend BEO meetings and make suggestions on event set up.
- Clean and store child highchairs and booster seats.
- May assist banquet personnel in setting up, serving, and cleaning up after banquet functions.
- Move tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guest diners.
- Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Management and Executive Chef.
- Ability to communicate effectively, perform multiple tasks, and prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior organization and communication skills required.
- Ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
The Houseman/Houseperson will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions. The ability to lift, move, and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds is required.
Education and Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in the Club industry or similar field preferred.
