About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality food, while ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met based on production orders.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracking product production, consumption, and waste, and informing the supervisor when supplies or product are low.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information directly to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of previous culinary experience
  • ServSafe certification is preferred
