Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team at The Manor Assisted Living Community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Cook at The Manor, your responsibilities will include:
- Inspecting food products and supplies
- Supervising and assisting in the storage of supplies and food products
- Coordinating with inter-departmental personnel to ensure dining services meet residents' needs
- Maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the unit and shift
- Meeting with the Executive Chef regularly to identify and correct problem areas
- Reporting and addressing resident complaints and grievances
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus
- Preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving meals; ensuring appropriate portioned servings according to standards
- Preparing nutritional snacks for residents as directed by the Executive Chef
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate or equivalent education (preferred)
- Experience in a commercial kitchen
- Preference given to those with education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets
- Minimum two (2) years of food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting (desired)
- General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving
- Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring
- Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for various work routines
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations
- Pass a criminal background check and meet health and state requirements, including TB testing
- Be in good mental and physical condition
$40,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
