The infantry is the backbone of the U.S. Army, responsible for defending the country against any land-based threat. As an infantryman, you will be part of a fire team, performing drills and combat operations.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in fire team drills and combat operations
- Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry
- Assist in reconnaissance missions
- Process prisoners of war and captured documents
- Operate, maintain, and store combat weapons
To succeed in this role, you must be willing to accept challenges, perform well under stress, and be physically and mentally fit. You should also be able to work effectively as a team member.
Training and DevelopmentAs an infantryman, you will undergo 14 weeks of One Station Unit Training, which includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training. This will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this role.
