Responsibilities:

  • Assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit.
  • May perform direct and indirect patient care, including vitals, hygiene measures, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients.
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice.
  • Function as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment on the unit.
  • Assist with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment.
  • Perform clerical and business support tasks as assigned.
  • Assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Requirements:

  • One-year patient care experience preferred, i.e. OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
  • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado required.
