Job Summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Technology Services group, you will be responsible for performing advanced level system analysis, definition, and design activities. This position will interact with other software developers and analysts, project managers, database administrators, customers, and department management.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze user requirements, determine technical level of effort required, and prepare technical design and specifications.
  • Develop, test, and implement technical solutions, preparing application test plans and conducting unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Analyze, modify, and maintain existing applications.
  • Prepare technical, operational, and user-related documentation in support of applications.
  • Provide technical support to functional users, determining and solving systems and programming issues.
  • Assist in conducting informal and formal end-user training.
  • Advise on and review work of other analysts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four to five years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Agile SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, ITSM, ITIL, and PMP best practices. CMS: Drupal (Custom module and theme development). INTEGRATIONS: Data design, mapping, and exchange using APIs, ETL, integration tools (Zapier, Mulesoft, Postman). CLOUD PLATFORMS: Managing cloud website hosting platforms (Pantheon, Azure, AWS). WEBSITE MONITORING TOOLS: New Relic, SolarWinds. PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES: PHP (Drupal CMS, Symphony & Zend frameworks), HTML, CSS, ServiceNow (Catalog Builder, Flow Designer, GlideScript), Javascript frameworks (JSON), Apex (Salesforce, Formstack), Python (Django), Restful API. MISC. TOOLS: Github, Jira, Jenkins. DATABASES: SQL (including optimization and performance tuning). SECURITY: Incorporates strict application security methodologies into daily routine. SERVER ADMINISTRATION: Linux RHEL. INDUSTRY: University or government employment experience.
