Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our production team in Dallas, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers, enforcing company policies, and planning work schedules to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including inspectors, precision workers, machine setters, operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures according to the corporate handbook.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations and safety procedures, or assign training to experienced workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies for workers.
  • Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, and production schedules to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as needed.
  • Maintain operations data, including time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports on production results and performance metrics.
  • Determine standards, budgets, production goals, and rates based on company policies, equipment, labor availability, and workloads.
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Set up and adjust machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for experience in metal fabrication.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse production team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address production challenges efficiently.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES) and Microsoft Office Suite.
