Position Overview

The Physical Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering outpatient physical therapy services, focusing primarily on orthopedic and sports medicine for the Purdue University Student Health (PUSH) Physical Therapy Department. This role involves the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients through specialized outpatient services tailored for Purdue University students. The Physical Therapist is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of patient care, utilizing electronic medical records effectively. Additionally, this position includes monitoring the inventory of supplies and equipment, assisting in the management and procurement of clinic resources. The Physical Therapist will provide guidance and oversight to junior professionals and students, and may take on project management responsibilities or represent the department as directed by leadership.

Position Type: This is an academic year (9-month) role that can be offered as either part-time (4 days per week) or full-time (5 days per week) based on the candidate's preferences.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
  • Degree in Physical Therapy
  • New Graduates are encouraged to apply
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered, including:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy with 4-5 years of relevant experience
    • A Master's degree in Physical Therapy (MPT or MSPT) with 2-3 years of relevant experience
    • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) with no prior experience required
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana as a Physical Therapist
Essential Skills:
Required:
  • Proficient in the use of EMR/EHR systems
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior staff
