Client Overview:

They are currently seeking an X-ray Imaging Specialist to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr - $45/hr
Position Overview:
As an X-ray Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients using X-rays and other imaging modalities. You will operate X-ray equipment, position patients, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. Additionally, you will maintain equipment, record patient information, and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the provision of services and patient security.
  • Advise patients to ensure desired results, encourage collaboration, and reduce fear before procedures.
  • Operate CR/Digital X-ray systems and imaging equipment in a safe, effective, and appropriate manner.
  • Assemble and record relevant data, including patient medical history.
  • Evaluate patients for potential risk factors.
  • Ensure accurate patient and demographic data entry in PACS.
  • Interpret and comply with medical orders, scanning pertinent PACS data.
  • Meet deadlines for process completion.
  • Generate high-quality diagnostic images with precise placement and approach for interpretation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized x-ray room following procedures.
  • Respect infection control guidelines tailored to patient needs.
  • Perform QA/QC testing as required by the state.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments and adjust priorities based on changing situations.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the technologist work area.
  • Consult and communicate with other departments in a professional manner.
  • Plan delivery of care according to patient activity and staff competencies.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others.
  • Ensure equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.
  • Follow department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.
  • Verify exams in the PACS system.
  • Direct daily operations of all radiology functions, in all locations.
  • Demonstrate decision-making skills, delegate tasks, and ensure patient and staff welfare.
  • Maintain equipment records and recommend replacement of outdated or poorly functioning equipment.
  • Plan and assist in the orientation of new technical staff.
  • Implement and oversee daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control, as mandated by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of safety and radiation protection.
  • Cancel and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Replenish and change supplies in assigned areas as needed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of safety, health, and moral needs of customers and co-workers.
  • Other job duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience.
  • Maintain current knowledge of RIS and PACS computer systems.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record Systems, RIS, and PACS Systems.
Education Requirements:
  • Graduated from an accredited Radiology program.
  • Licensed by NJ State DEP.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies.
  • BLS certification/IV certification is preferred.
