We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
- Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Associated degree from an accredited respiratory program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Respiratory Care Practitioner certification issued by the Texas Medical Board.
- 1 year experience in an acute care facility preferred; new grads with licensing complete will be considered.
- Must be able to work nights and rotation weekends.
