Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonography Specialist to join our team at Weill Cornell Medical College. As a key member of our medical imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonography, participating in invasive procedures utilizing ultrasound guidance, and managing data collection and organization of the ultrasound rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic sonography and participate in invasive procedures utilizing ultrasound guidance
  • Manage data collection and organization of the ultrasound rooms
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate departmental or functional specific policies and procedures
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and/or reagents
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and/or conferences to stay up-to-date on standards and best practices within the field
  • Assist current and new employees in the use of systems/equipment and departmental policies and procedures
  • Greet registered patients at time of visit and triage patients through the patient flow process
  • Review and verify patient identity, history, and requisition for exam to be performed
  • Input patient history information at time of exam/test into the practice management system
  • Ensure patient safety is maintained at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining a sterile environment
  • Implement technical data, organize record keeping, and data collection
  • Perform sonogram and procedures requiring ultrasound guidance
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Approximately 2 years of experience working in clinical ultrasonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
Working Conditions/Physical Demands

This position requires the occasional lifting of equipment and patients.
