Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at the Fordham Rose Hill Center. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality food to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Set up workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
  • Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as needed.
  • Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives.
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and other kitchen appliances.
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods to prepare meat, vegetables, and other foods.
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation.
  • Ensure the security of company assets.
Requirements
  • Experience as a cook or in a related role is required.
  • Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations is necessary.
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
