Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment
  • Preferred: Possess Utah P.O.S.T Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) certification in good standing or be certifiable prior to date of employment
  • Valid Utah driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of community-oriented policing, patrol operations, criminal investigations, report writing, and safety standards related to the use of vehicles, firearms, and other police equipment

Benefits:

  • Starting wage for full-time officers with experience: $27.13/hour
  • Years of full-time law enforcement experience may be matched, up to 8 years, depending on qualifications and certifications

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Lehi City Police Officers typically work 7-12 hour shifts, totaling 86 hours every two weeks. Tasks require physical activities involving muscular strain, walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and reaching. Essential functions require talking, hearing, and seeing. Mental application utilizes memory for details, emotional stability, discriminating thinking, and creative problem-solving. Frequent travel is required, and elements of the job pose various degrees of hazard uncertainty common to law enforcement.
