Position: Senior Civil Engineer
Compensation: Starting at $95,000, commensurate with experience.
Location: Belleview, FL
Note: This position requires on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities- Review and provide feedback on development plans to ensure compliance with applicable land development regulations.
- Assist the public and property owners in navigating the development review process, offering guidance on departmental policies and local regulations.
- Conduct site visits for the assessment and resolution of complaints.
- Provide insights and support in the formulation of corrective actions.
- Inspect and evaluate projects and improvement plans submitted for approval as directed.
- Oversee construction administration for county projects, including pre-construction meetings, inspections, and compliance with contract documents.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve permit review issues and violations of local regulations.
- Engage in preliminary or final engineering design and modeling as needed.
- Perform detailed analyses and prepare technical studies for project planning, design, and operation.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with stakeholders, including citizens and consultants.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and related documentation.
- Conduct reviews of completed projects to ensure adherence to established standards and specifications.
- Effectively communicate information to various stakeholders in both individual and group settings.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to the public and other county employees, ensuring adherence to organizational values.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Engineer I: Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering; 1 year of engineering internship experience required.
Engineer II: Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering; Florida PE or equivalent license with the ability to obtain Florida PE within 6 months; 4 years of relevant experience.
Engineer III: Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering; Florida PE or equivalent license with the ability to obtain Florida PE within 6 months; 4 years of experience or 2 years of relevant experience with a PE and a Master’s degree in the field.
CertificationsFEMA NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications must be obtained within three months of assignment.
Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector certification must be obtained within twelve months of assignment.
